Developing Thoughtful, Articulate Young Adults “A society that wishes to be both ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, wants what never was, and never will be.” —Thomas Jefferson was founded as a public charter school in 1999 and has since become a forerunner in education. Our K-12 college-preparatory curriculum based in the trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric enables students to graduate as thoughtful, articulate young adults who are prepared for college and ready for a lifetime of citizenship and active intellectual inquiry. 2020 Vision What an exciting time at ! It’s hard to miss all the construction activity taking place at the upper campus. We continue to witness first-hand the exciting growth on the upper campus at Thomas Jefferson. Despite a few days of bad weather in our area, the gymnasium portion of the construction project remains on schedule. We are thankful for the generous donations to date and for the low-interest USDA loan that brought us to this point. As you may know, charter schools do not receive funding from the State or local governments to address building construction, maintenance, transportation, and other similar needs. The government funding we receive is primarily for teacher salaries and educational support. We rely on the generosity of our parents, grandparents, and community supporters to make improvements like this happen. Construction is underway on the physical buildings and site work but we need your help to complete this important project. Your contributions help pay for smartboards in the classrooms, lockers, bleachers, fencing, paving the running track, ballfield lighting, and future plans such as tennis courts, a field house, music, and training room additions, renovations of our auditorium and other needs not yet funded. No gift is too big or too small and multi-year commitments are welcome. Please begin considering the level of support you can provide to make this vision a reality. This will allow appropriate staff the time needed to ensure we have a clean and disinfected work area for those employees who continue to work from our schools.
